Record Mirror, May 6th 1978 - John Lydon interview.
The reporter starts off suitably snide and focuses mainly on the Pistols. John seems not to take him seriously throughout, however,
there is some interesting pre-PiL info: "I'm gonna produce my next LP. I've watched them twiddling knobs in the studio for years. I know what sound I'm after, and I know how to get it. Easy." He also states he's still looking for a drummer.

Record Mirror, July 28th 1979 - John Lydon interview.
RM: Jeannette helps Public Image Limited. She is neither manager nor PR, but acts in a similar capacity. A deceptively winsome voice at the end of the battered phone, she has the responsibility for saying whether or not interviews will take place.

NME / Sounds, June 4th 1983 - News reports that Keith Levene has quit PiL: “Sources close to PIL suggest that Levene was increasingly at odds with the others, and decided to leave before the Japanese tour...”

NME, February 23rd 1980 - News report on one of the Police raids at John Lydon's house.

The Telegraph, October 7th 1980 - Newspaper report on Lydon's Dublin court case and the "scuffle" at the Horse & Tram Pub.

NME, June 16th, 1979 - PiL interview (now complete)
We were previously missing the ending to this pre-'Metal Box' full PiL interview. Lydon: "If anyone thinks the second album will be 'album one, part two', well they're mugs again…"

Sounds, May 3rd 1980 - Wobble interview
Wob takes Sounds to Wapping and speaks of PiL, Sid, and Virgin Records amongst many other things… "PiL seems to really raise hatred in people..."

Sounds, May 24th, 1980 - Lydon interview
"PiL in Hollywood". US Tour interview feature including 'American Bandstand' and LA, Olympic Auditorium show review. ''I think rock and roll is media manipulation and exploitation and corruptness and bullshit. I'm anti anything to do with it."

Brave Ear Fanzine - Press Conference, San Francisco, 1982
Fanzine article from the Galleria press conference at San Francisco, 181 Club, November 4th 1982. Includes (some) PEP/MiC info from Levene: "There are much more interesting things to do than video…"

Musik Express / Sounds, January 26th, 1984 - Lydon Interview
Lydon states he was misquoted over anti-Italian comments in his 1982 NME interview. He comments: "They ask a precise question and you give a precise answer. Then they put these little bits inbetween which you never said… I don't have anything against the Italians. I have many good friends over there. These things make me angry".

NME, February 8th, 1986 - Lydon Interview
Paul Morley attempts a stitch-up and adds suitably snide comments later (as Lydon predicts in the interview). The front cover also declares "Here's Looking at 40" (Lydon had literally just turned 30).

We have also added the recent 'Making of… Public Image' article from Uncut Magazine.

Hugo Burnham (Gang of Four) has confirmed he did appear with PiL on 'Top Of The Pops' in February 1986 playing drums alongside Bruce Smith on 'Rise'.

His appearance was only ever meant as a one-off, due to prior commitments managing Shriekback. He also confirmed Kevin Armstrong played guitar. Hugo also revealed that a few weeks later he was back on 'Top Of The Pops' with Samantha Fox! See Chronology February-March 1986 for more info on this period.
Thanks to Hugo Burnham

Album CDFodderstompf reader Tetufumi Otani recently unearthed this rare 1986 PiL CD in Japan. It had previously been thought all Japanese issues (in fact all issues) of the CD had been titled 'Compact Disc', this is the only known CD titled 'Album'.
