JOHN
LYDON
John
is back on the acting trail and
has been cast in a couple of upcoming
US sitcoms...
'Bad
News Mr Swanson' is centred
on a character with a terminal illness
who decides to start living when
he finds out he is dying. Typically
John plays The Grim Reaper!! The
show is set to air on the US cable
FX Network this autumn.
'A
Young Person's Guide to Becoming
a Rock Star' is a US remake
of last years Channel 4 show about
an aspiring rock band. John plays
the father of the main character,
as he says himself, "a heavy
metal dad"!! The show is set
to air on WB this autumn.
Apparently
John has more acting roles lined
up, including some film work. More
info as we get it...

JAH
WOBBLE
Wobble
has just released 'Passage to
Hades' a collaboration
with saxophonist Evan Parker
on his own 30
Hertz Records. The album has
already picked up good press, (including
in the February issue of The
Wire, which also includes a
full page ad for the CD) and looks
like building on the success of
last year's acclaimed Molam Dub
album.
Wobble and Parker will be appearing
at the Queen Elizabeth Hall
in London on 28th March.
After
a relatively quiet few months, by
his standards, Wobble will
be releasing a variety of old and
new material over the next few months.
A live Deep Space double CD
is due in May, and 30 Hertz will
soon start reissuing various 'lost'
Wobble releases from the eighties,
including the likes of 'The Bedroom
Album', Invaders of the Heart
12" & The Human Condition
(which included ex-PiL drummer Jim
Walker). More info as we get it.
Wobble
and Deep Space are set to play
Preston's Guild Hall on 28th
April as part of a conference
entitled 'Relocating the Sacred
in Contemporary Performance Practice'.
Genesis P Orridge and Thee Majesty
are also on the bill, Wobble and
Genesis will also be taking part
in a talk/discussion earlier in
the day.
More Deep Space gigs are
planned over the next few months,
check out the official 30
Hertz site for full info.

KEITH
LEVENE
Having
resurfaced in London last year,
Keith's long anticipated exclusive
interview with E-Zine
Perfect Sound has just been
published. The extensive interview
will run to 4 parts, the present
interview covers his early days,
including his thoughts on punk and
his time in The Clash. He touches
on PiL and John, but the
next part of the interview will
be where he really starts talking
about them. The next instalment
is due in late April with
the other parts to follow every
two months after that.
Keith
has a web site under construction
at TheMissingChannel
where he is set to release new material.
Details are still sketchy but Keith
reckons the new material will be
an extension of his work with PiL,
much in the way his previous solo
releases were. Check out the Perfect
Sound interview here.
PETE
JONES
After
the success of last year's 'Twisted'
album is considering releasing another
album later this year. Check
his web
site for further updates.
JOHN
LYDON
John
is currently recording a new
solo album at his own Rotten
Studios. He's still working on it,
and at present there is no release
date. The
plan is for John to release the
album himself via the internet,
with no record company involvement...
Once completed he hopes to tour
as a solo artist, no band
just him and some computers! Although
being largely computer based, John
intends the live sound to be more
like a band than simply electronic
samples.
Rotten
TV has been scrapped,
for the time being at least, after
John felt himself and VH-1 weren't
going in the same direction. The
show may possibly return on a different
network, although nothing is definite.
The same goes for Rotten Radio,
which John left last year after
a lack of promotion by Eyada. |
