Hired as a session musician to play brass and keyboards on 'This Is
What You Want...'. The album was recorded in early 1984 at Maison Rouge
Studios in London. No specific recording details are given.
Prior to working with PiL, Barnacle formed Leisure Process along with Ross Middleton (Positive Noise). He also recorded alongside future PiL guitarist John McGeoch in Visage. 1993 saw him play on Bjork's 'Debut' album: an album which also featured former-PiLer's Jah Wobble and Bruce Smith.
A much demanded saxophone session player, Barnacle has worked with The Clash, The Ruts, The Creatures, Presence, Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Pet Shop Boys; among others. He was also a member of Level 42 (1981-94). He released his first solo album 'Paradise' in 2002.

Europeans (1980-85) and How We Live (1985-89). Whose singer Steve Hogarth
later joined Marillion in 1989: their drummer Geoff Dudgemore also
worked with Killing Joke in the 90s.
