'Beef' was the first (and probably last) time since leaving PiL that Levene and Wobble worked together; playing on and sharing a co-credit on the track. As well as this recorded collaboration they also played live with On-U-Sound at shows in London & Brighton in Autumn 1990.

Wobble and Levene were originally introduced to Adrian Sherwood, via John Lydon in the 70s, and had previously worked with On-U; playing with the likes of African Head Charge & Dub Syndicate. This collaboration came about after Sherwood suggested they work together again.

To add to the confusion 'Beef' featured on two separate Gary Clail albums; and was released as a variety of remixes...

Levene also plays bass on 'Peace Perfect Peace', as well as co-writing and playing keyboards on 'Beef', and 'A Mans Place On Earth'. Wobble only features on, and co-writes, 'Beef'.
