This 7" version is an edited version of the album/12" version. The instrumental B-side was remixed by Jason Corsard.

Trivia:
To keep in with the generic approach of 'Album' the 7" was re-named 'Single'. This is PiL's second biggest UK hit (after 'Love Song').

It's possible the seeds of this track can be traced back to the Sex Pistols. Sid was once quoted in 1978 saying the band were working on a track about South Africa where the blacks were going to "rise" and seize control...

A promo video was shot for the single. Directed by Peter Care.
