Label & Catalogue Number:
105 GOOD SHAPE RECORDS
Origin:
USA
Release Date:
1981
Format:
7", plays at 33rpm
Source:
15 mins edit, recorded live at New York, Ritz 15.5.81
Sound Quality:
Listenable. Very muddy audience recording, but mostly audible.
The recording has been sped up to fit as much time as possible on a 7"
single. Apart from Lisa Yapp's introduction (including a PiL interview
from her 'Dirt' cable TV show, which was projected onto the screen), the
EP misses around 10 minutes of the beginning of the show, and then jumps
right to 'Four Enclosed Walls'.
Notes:
One for the hard-core PiL fans. Mostly a rabble!
The introduction was by Lisa Yapp, a NY cable TV show host, and friend
of then PiL member, Ed Caraballo. See Audio
Bootleg Guide for more info on the recording.
Packaging:
Laminated sleeve. Front cover features the PiL page from Ray Stevenson's
'Sex Pistols File' book, in pink & white; along with details of the infamous
gig. Back cover features a colour close up of Lydon's face taken from
the 'First Issue' sleeve, along with a white PiL logo. Blank white labels.
Dedicated to "To That Fucking Audience".
Personnel:
Vox - John Lydon
Guitar - Keith Levene
Drums - Sam Ulano
