Review:
Another monster set from PiL and a fantastic bootleg to boot. By this point of the tour the set list had grown to include numbers such as Religion, Order of Death and the Pistols Holidays in the Sun.
For years I had the bootleg, but the quality was dire and the recording seemed to have been slowed down considerably so that I had to keep it on a 100 minute cassette. Last year from Spain itself of all places a guy sent me a tape that was supposed to be the Donauinsell Festival performance from Austria on the 12th of September, but it turned out to be the Barcelona gig in a much improved state. No longer slowed down, no longer muddy and trying to one's patience, this upgrade is a million miles better than the copy I had. It's amazing how the quality of a recording can add to the enjoyment.
The Barcelona gig was a bootleg I'd only ever gave a listen to once or twice, but the improved copy is a joy to listen to. Maybe not as clear as the Madrid or Bordeux bootlegs, but still a great performance and bootleg.
The Order of Death, Rise, Annalisa, World Destruction and Holidays in the Sun are performed as encores.
